Throning is everything, but dating someone because you genuinely like them or are looking for love. It’s only a more sophisticated ‘gold-digging’, which is possible through the ubiquitous digitalization. And also growing in popularity as a reflection of today’s moral values…
People who throne-date others, would research them thoroughly before going out with them, to ensure they are ‘what they are looking for’. Throning literally means putting someone on a pedestal, but only so you can benefit from them financially or gain a certain social status, by being associated with them.
How to spot a throning date:
- Great focus on reputation (yours, theirs and/ or others’)
- Calculating, manipulative behavior
- Excessive flattery
- Self-centeredness
- Nicer to you in public
- Not sharing any truly personal info or throughs
- Not there for you when you need them
- Ask you for money or presents
